New York, NY, October 3, 2022—Tannenbaum Helpern is pleased to announce three exciting new additions to the Firm. Melissa Billig arrives as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Construction & Design Practice, Randi May joins as Partner in the Firm’s Employment Practice and Jennifer Papantonio assumes leadership of the Firm’s marketing group as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer.
“The addition of Melissa, Randi and Jennifer highlights Tannenbaum Helpern’s growth in the New York City market and the continued expansion of our existing practices,” said Firm Managing Partner, Andrew W. Singer.
Melissa joins the Firm as Co-Chair of its Construction & Design Practice, working alongside colleague and Co-Chair, Ken Block in leading the group of exceptional construction litigators and advisors. “With Melissa’s arrival, our team’s long history of representing owners and developers, among others in the industry, expands to a wider client base including architects, designers and engineers in the City and around the region,” said Ken.
Melissa’s 20+ years of experience includes representing various clients in the construction industry in conjunction with midsize to large scale development projects, including condominium developments, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion and renovation, the Governors Island Park project and the Culture Shed project at Hudson Yards.
Andrew W. Singer, who also chairs the Firm’s Employment Practice, welcomes Randi May as “an exciting addition to our management-centered practice. Randi’s clients benefit from her experience as both an employment counselor and litigator―she is a highly experienced attorney who understands all facets of the employment lifecycle.”
Randi counsels clients in every aspect of the employment relationship, including employment agreements, policies, leaves of absence, compensation arrangements, workplace investigations, and workplace audits. She also defends employers across a number of industries in discrimination, retaliation, compensation, wage & hour, restrictive covenant and other disputes.
The Firm is also pleased to welcome Jennifer Papantonio as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer with a focus on client relations and business development. “An accomplished marketing professional, Jennifer is keenly focused on delivering excellence in client service through a number of firm-wide initiatives,” said Singer.
Regarding the Firm’s three new hires, Management Committee member and Trusts & Estates Chair, Yolanda Kanes, commented, “Melissa and Randi are dynamic and true business ‘counselors’ who provide thoughtful guidance on legal and commercial aspects of their clients’ businesses. Together with Jennifer’s market-driven guidance and support, each new member of the THSH community proves to be an ideal fit within the Tannenbaum Helpern culture.”
